Mapambazuka Training Centre (MMM Ngaramtoni) was established in 1983 by The Medical Missionaries of Mary in Arusha. It is situated 12km from Arusha town on the main Namanga road opposite the police station.

The Centre's Objective:
Our objective is to build up the skills and capacity of grassroots development workers particularly health workers, in order that they utilize their own indigenous knowledge and natural resources in a sustainable and cost effective manner through good planning as well as implementing and evaluating their work.

 

 

 

 

Training and Development Centre

The centre plans its development & training course for the year based on the needs of the community. The courses should help development workers meet the challenges they face. While the courses are aimed at promoting personal development, they can be categorized in three main groups:
 
(1) Management.  Courses given in this area include:

  • Project Planning and Management 
  • Proposal Writing for Donors
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Financial Management

(2) Health Care:

  • Voluntary Counseling and Testing for HIV/AIDS
  • Caring for people with HIV/AIDS
  • Behaviour Change Process (BCP)
  • Capacitor Training

(3) Food & Medicine:

  • Indigenous Plants as Food and Medicine
